This is the core problem with these deep-state, mega-funded scio-security organizations like USAMRIID (Fort Detrick), NIAID, DAPRA, IAPRA etc - they quietly amass empires over decades with no accountability - it's classified. Parney Albright would appear to be major player in that field. Fauci is a classic example, so is David Franz who's had his finger in everything from Anthrax to Covid, so is Linfa Wang, who as a Chinese citizen, somehow came to run Australia's biodefense lab for CSIRO, so are all the Proximal Origin authors.

Their positions within these organizations are impregnable. If they do get up to no good, then it's considered to be not in the country's national interest to expose it coz it will weaken public trust in our key institutions. How are we going to convince the public to keep paying for these programs/people if they find out they're being continually screwed by them?

Meanwhile, within this secret, unaccountable world, there's always the temptation to manufacture a crisis to reinforce/increase funding.

One of the main Qs to come out of Covid for me is: How much of this secret bio-security deep-state is really necessary?

None of it, so far as i can see. It causes nothing but trouble. The so-called threats are nothing more than projected BS from the GODS. The only bio-weapons events since WW2 have either been staged by US scientists (Anthrax mailings), perpetrated by US scientists (Cuba/possibly Korea/Ebola 2014), or been the result of lab-leaks (Covid/Russian Anthrax leak).
