Bangladesh uses povidone-iodine (General)
Here's a study that shows an overwhelming effectiveness of providone-iodine gargle.
Granted, it's a very small study. Interestingly, it suggests that even gargling with tap water has some effect, but the providone-iodine group hit a 100% negative on PCR tests after 12 days.
