Northern hemisphere summer - is this the big one? (Weather)

According to this report, the US has experienced its "wettest 12 months since records began", including widespread flooding in the midwest and a "near record number of tornadoes".

That's almost a reverse scenario to the southern hemisphere summer which had record temps and droughts (with the odd flood thrown in).

Meanwhile Taiwan seems to be consistently hotter, though the meiyu was quite 'normal' - not too excessive - not too sparse
