Jul 20, Northern Rivers: Sounds like a lot of rain, though only at 50%. Always thought 50% is a cop out from weather bureaus - just write don't know. It's been relatively dry, not great, but rain has returned in the last week. Raining now. Seems back on the menu. Let a camper in tonight, but it was a mistake, they will damage the road. Wallabies are around - have adjusted to campers pretty well. First sighting of swamp harrier whilst working on NE campsite shed. There have been some cold nights as low as 3C, with moderate frosts - big frost - but lately around the 7-9 mark. South creek is still barely accessible - nearly got bogged a few weeks ago - it then dried out for a few-day window - will now be back to too boggy for another week at least.

Jul 23, NR: Fucking rain. The forecast said 0-5mm - we ended up with over 60mm. Just when things were drying out, that sends it right back to full bog-up. Jul is supposed to be dry season, but it seems similar to last year where it just keeps raining right through.

Jul 24, Guam: A storm, or two storms according to JTWC, formed overnight. Interestingly, JTWC is listing one as a tropical depression and the other as a 'tropical cyclone formation'. I suspect they're calling it a cyclone because it formed south of the equator; I'm pretty sure they go by 'typhoon' in the Mariana Islands. And that also raises the question of, when does a storm stop going by one term and start with the other? Is there a person in a JTWC cap somewhere making that decision? Regardless, the 'cyclone formation' is SE of us heading NW, so we're in for some rain over the next couple of days.
