This system has just popped up on our front doorstep tonight. Looks like a low pressure gathering steam and heading this way but doesn't appear on the charts.

Lots of lightning and distant but audible thunder, and now it has started raining quite heavily and just had a much closer crack of thunder. Judging from the radar there's quite a bit in it. Not sure if it's the same thing that was pounding the south east coast for the last 4-5 days and it's relocated, or it is, in fact, an instant typhoon.

Whatever, the CWB might want to revise their 40% pop for tonight.
