Omicron - the end of Covid? (General)

This is deduction - but since we're never going to hear the truth from the experts, it's all we've got.

Omicron is more contagious but mild compared to other variants.

At first i thought that there's no reason why it couldn't mutate to become more severe again but now i'm thinking that's probably wrong-headed.

As it's already super-contagious, it's unlikely that a new strain, which is more deadly, will out-compete it.

Therefore, Omicron represents the end-game for Covid.

Unfortunately it won't be the end-game for the new bio-state stranglehold - if only it was that simple.
