Interesting information. Our landlord is growing a lot of asparagus, although I don't know how successful he's been because he did plant a lot of starters this year. Of course, his earlier crop may have gotten wiped out by Morakot or Fanapi. I imagine asparagus is sensitive to severe weather events.

He did recently cut them back quite a bit. I saw a lot of asparagus on the compost pile. I'll attach some pics.
