Habu? - Formosahut forum

I'm assuming this is a Habu. It's still on our porch as I type. I need to get a better camera.

Yeah, it's definitely a habu - just checked the snake website - it's a perfect match - the pattern. Nice photo - now open a little reptile zoo around here - that could be fun.

I'm wondering if this is the same one I saw on our driveway a couple weeks ago. This one looked a bit bigger, but it's hard to tell. I need to tag them like they do on TV nature programs, or give the next one I see a nose ring or something so I can identify it if it comes back. If I knew this was the same one coming back, I'd be tempted to kill it, though I prefer not to. Still, I can see how they'd be very easy to step on, particularly at night, and that would be very unfun.

Or how about spray paint? Then you could give them names:

'Hey look darling, here comes Suzi - she's from that nice family of the highly venomous and possibly aggresive habus that like to visit our front porch now and again.'
