Who's Who in WHO (General)

by dulan drift ⌂, Thursday, April 23, 2020, 18:46 (1673 days ago)

As Dan pointed out, what we know as WHO, is a collection of 'member states' - a political body - the people we hear from are the staff. This report shines some light on the inner-workings:

"China argued against declaring an emergency on 22 January, but could not have carried the argument alone. The other emergency members and advisers were experts from the US, Thailand, Russia, France, South Korea, Canada, Japan, Netherlands, Australia, Senegal, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and New Zealand.

Their advice is confidential, but for the vote to have been split, several western, or western-aligned, representatives must have voted with Beijing."

Not sure why that's confidential information - the world's citizens aren't allowed to know how their world body voted at such a crucial juncture?

Failing that, i can take a guess. Apart from China you'd need 6 more countries to force a tie - Senegal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Russia? maybe not - Russia was one of the first countries to close the border with China - maybe Canada on the grounds of that car crash interview by Dr Bruce Aylward? Still needs one more...

WHO's international funding

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, April 25, 2020, 08:10 (1672 days ago) @ dulan drift

"During the 2018-2019 two-year period, the U.S. share came to about $893 million in assessed dues and voluntary contributions, while China paid $86 million, according to publicly available WHO data.

Despite its status as the world’s No. 2 economic power, China has historically contributed far less than donors such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Kingdom and Germany."

That begs the question - How does China wield so much influence? Seems it's more to do with which countries are in your political pocket than anything related to health or financial contribution to the organization.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus - Cover-up of Cholera outbreak

by dulan drift ⌂, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, 18:55 (1668 days ago) @ dulan drift

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus: WHO Director General 2018-

An interesting character who carved out a career as an Ethiopian politician before being elected WHO chief. He served as Health Minister then Foreign Minister in the Ethiopian Government from 2005-2016.

Credited with significant improvements to Ethiopia's overall health profile, he was also "accused ... of covering up three cholera epidemics in his home country, Ethiopia, when he was health minister." The accusations came during the campaign period for the top WHO spot in 2017.

"In an interview, Dr. Tedros ... denied covering up cholera. Outbreaks occurring in 2006, 2009 and 2011, he said, were only “acute watery diarrhea” in remote areas where laboratory testing “is difficult.”
W.H.O. officials have complained privately that Ethiopian officials are not telling the truth about these outbreaks. Testing for Vibrio cholerae bacteria, which cause cholera, is simple and takes less than two days.
During earlier outbreaks, various news organizations, including The Guardian and The Washington Post, reported that unnamed Ethiopian officials were pressuring aid agencies to avoid using the word “cholera” and not to report the number of people affected.
But cholera bacteria were found in stool samples tested by outside experts. As soon as severe diarrhea began appearing in neighboring countries, the cause was identified as cholera.

United Nations officials said more aid could have been delivered to Ethiopia had the truth been told."

It raises the question of who is profiting or otherwise benefiting from this virus.

Surveillance - or those behind the data centralization would be near the top of the profit column in terms of power consolidation.

Losers are the Hong Kong protesters - or any protesters really. When the protest was gathering steam i wondered how on earth China was going to reel that back in without a Tiananmen Square type massacre.

China supports WHO Investigation

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, May 08, 2020, 18:21 (1658 days ago) @ dulan drift

"On Thursday foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, said China supported WHO efforts to investigate the source of the virus, and “are always open to cooperate with the WHO on matters, including on the question of origin”."

I'm sure they are! Co-operated fine before when we covered it up - let's keeping going!

No - that can't be the way it unpacks. There has to be an independent investigation - a transparent one. WHO needs to stay the fuck away - stop tampering with the evidence. Same for any other UN body. This can't be a political narrative version of what happened. We need to know what actually happened. How can we stop it happening again.

Chinese Influence over Academia - Lancet Petition

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, May 09, 2020, 09:03 (1658 days ago) @ dan

Yes, the whole overseas university student thing in Australia is a scandal waiting to be uncovered. Universities make (used to anyway) truckloads of money from overseas students - most of which come from China. Money talks.

I'd also like to know but haven't seen figures for how much Chinese money is involved in funding various research projects. A couple of months ago i mentioned my sister sent me a petition doing the rounds in Lancet denouncing questions about the Wuhan lab as 'conspiracy theories' and expressing 'solidarity' with China's handling of the outbreak. At the time i thought it was dumb for scientists to be going out on a limb to support China - it looks even worse now. Here are extracts from that statement:

We have watched as the scientists, public health professionals, and medical professionals of China, in particular, have worked diligently and effectively to rapidly identify the pathogen behind this outbreak, put in place significant measures to reduce its impact, and share their results transparently with the global health community. This effort has been remarkable. (No, it hasn't.)

The rapid, open, and transparent sharing of data on this outbreak is now being threatened by rumours and misinformation around its origins. We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin. (Actually it's the opposite way 'round - rumours spread because of a lack of transparency)

We sign this statement in solidarity with all scientists and health professionals in China who continue to save lives and protect global health during the challenge of the COVID-19 outbreak. ('Global health' wasn't protected.)

Conspiracy theories do nothing but create fear, rumours, and prejudice that jeopardise our global collaboration in the fight against this virus.
We support the call from the Director-General of WHO to promote scientific evidence and unity over misinformation and conjecture. We want you, the science and health professionals of China, to know that we stand with you in your fight against this virus.

Firstly it's not a conspiracy theory to ask a question about the origin - it's just a question. It's revealing that some people get so uptight because someone asks a question. In my experience that always points to insecurity.

Secondly, all Chinese scientists working on the virus have been silenced. It's absurd to be saying they're "sharing their results transparently". That's a straight out lie - coming from scientists who are waffling on about how they care about 'scientific evidence'.

I don't necessarily blame the scientists and health professionals of China and WHO - i don't know the level of complicity in blocking the release of information - i assume it's orders from above. But for a bevy of scientists to be angrily saying that there's 'remarkable transparency' coming out of China - that boils down to two possible explanations - either astonishing naivety/stupidity - or corruption. I can't think of a third explanation. Either way, don't be surprised if people stop listening to you.

Who's Who in WHO

by dan, Wednesday, May 13, 2020, 18:55 (1653 days ago) @ dulan drift

And then I see headlines like this:

Scientists: 'Exactly zero' evidence COVID-19 came from a lab
From https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2020/05/scientists-exactly-zero-evidence-co...

What the article fails to mention is that there is exactly zero evidence that it came directly from nature. In fact, they have no evidence at all, zero, of where it came from. There is inference, yes. There is extrapolation, yes. But no evidence at all. Zero. And yet, their headline suggests that it has been determined that it didn't come from a lab, which is not the case.

The article spends a lot of time supporting the argument that the virus was not engineered, but even if that's true, it is still quite possible that a 'natural' virus escaped from the lab. Nowhere in the article (though I read it very quickly) do they discuss the fact that SARS has escaped from labs previously.

Chinese Influence over Academics - Chinese students

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, May 16, 2020, 10:50 (1650 days ago) @ dan

Here's the situation in Australian Universities: successive governments have reduced funding and encouraged unis to develop their own revenue streams - namely foreign students.

At The University of Melbourne, which consistently ranks among the top two or three unis in Australia, foreign students make up 38.7% of all students on campus. Several other unis are operating with 50% foreign students.

An estimated 50% of these students are from China though universities don't release breakdown figures by country. The above linked Financial Times article estimates that Chinese students contribute $410 million to Melbourne University's coffers each year and $534 million to Sydney University. This amounts to 16% of all revenue at Melbourne uni and 23% at Sydney. As such, it raises questions over transparency as well as the morality of the industry in terms of degrees being for sale - even when academic standards are not me.

"According to Professor Babones, who teaches sociology at the University of Sydney: "Some students don't read and write English well enough and don't understand what to do.
"It's an unspoken but widely understood rule in humanities and social sciences that we are expected to help students pass. Or at least not expected to be failing them.
"People are getting degrees who probably shouldn't.""

For China, which flaunts its power to turn this income stream off or on, common sense tells you it wants something for its money. Couple that with numerous reports of CCP infiltration of major universities across Australia and NZ in terms of funding think-tanks, monopolizing student bodies, intimidating critics and you have a serious in-place foreign power block operating in Australian universities.

So all this needs to be factored in when you see academics, be they from WHO or universities coming out supporting the CCP's position regarding the source of the virus.

I want to take a closer look at one of those papers purporting to 'debunk the lab origin theory' such as Dan mentioned in this light - i'll do that in the next post.

Edit: It's not the next post - it was split to different thread here.

Who's Who in WHO - Investigation

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, July 17, 2020, 08:53 (1589 days ago) @ dulan drift

Recently a new 'investigation team' of 'scientific experts' embarked on a trip to China.

Here's the thing - the names of the 'experts' have been kept secret.

All we know is that they are Geneva-based, there are two of them, an epidemiologist and a zoologist, and it's an advance party.

The last WHO mission to China was led by Bruce Aylward, a Canadian epidemiologist, famous for the car-crash interview about Taiwan with a HK reporter. He came back with a glowing report about China's response and transparency.

The talk surrounding the investigation suggests the focus will be on finding a wildlife scapegoat.
According to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus:
“The mission objective is to advance the understanding of animal hosts for COVID-19 and ascertain how the disease jumped between animals and humans.” That sounds like they've got a predetermined discourse in mind.

For what it's worth, here's what i think that narrative will be:

1. Natural origins from bat which may include intermediary species.

2. Original infections occurred in Southern China (possibly Yunnan) then infected person travelled to Wuhan - or- original infection occurred in Hubei province when person ate intermediary species.

3. If from Yunnan, some story about why it didn't take off in Yunnan first or anywhere along the route from Yunnan to Wuhan.

4. No evidence that it leaked from a Wuhan lab.

Who's Who in WHO - Peter Daszak

This guy, Peter Daszak, the president of EcoHealth Alliance in New York City- he is up to his eyeballs in Chinese money and research collaborations - whatever he says i immediately think about the opposite. Regarding the current investigation he says:

“It will be the first unbiased effort to communicate with Chinese scientists and public-health leaders on this very sensitive and politicized issue.”

How on earth can you classify two nameless 'experts' from WHO, approved by China, as being unbiased?

Edit: Turned out that Daszak would later be announced (Late Dec 2020) as a member of the 'Team of 10'. Sounds like he knew back in July he would be one of them. More on Daszak in later posts here.

WHO members accused of sexual assault

"WHO and other aid agency staff were accused by 50 women (from DR Congo) in a joint investigation by two news agencies. Local women were allegedly plied with drinks, "ambushed" in hospitals, forced to have sex, and two became pregnant.
The allegations cover the period between 2018 and March this year.
The New Humanitarian news agency and the Thomson Reuters Foundation have carried out an almost year-long investigation."

There's a dark, unaccountable underworld going on in these global organizations such as WHO.

We've seen it with the Olympic Committees, FIFA, other UN agencies - they are non-democratic bodies whose high-paid members wield tremendous power. The sexual abuse is a symptom of what they think they can get away with it.

Systemic sexual abuse by UN organizations has long been a problem. In response to exposure of abuse in Haiti two years ago, WHO loudly pledged a policy of "zero tolerance, rigorous training for staff and proper reporting systems."

What a crock that turned out to be. Now WHO is promising a "robust investigation" into the latest allegations - that their "proper reporting systems" failed to detect for two over two years.

Hands up all those who think that investigation will be anything more than a cover-up job.

WHO blocks the word 'Taiwan' on it's FB page

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, November 14, 2020, 12:48 (1468 days ago) @ dulan drift

After again blocking Taiwan from admission to the World Health Assembly, WHO officials even blocked the mention of the word 'Taiwan' from its FB site.

People posting on discussion forums in relation to the decision to bar Taiwan were branded as being part of an "onslaught of cyber-attacks" which were supposedly preventing people from discussing health issues.

Given WHO is the world champion at 'preventing people (from Taiwan) from discussing health issues', that is really a bit rich.

WHO officials said:

“The aim is to enable our users to avoid being spammed through cyberattacks ... and to find a balanced way to keep information and conversation flowing.”

That is the exact opposite of what they are doing by suppressing any reference to Taiwan - still the world's leading country in controlling Covid.

WHO is actively 'finding imbalanced ways to prevent information and conversation flowing'.

This is the same tactic they have employed since Covid began. WHO is a political body and a China puppet - whatever they say is automatically subject to those two principles.

Sham WHO-CCP investigation into Covid Origins

by dulan drift ⌂, Sunday, November 15, 2020, 10:01 (1467 days ago) @ dulan drift

This smacked of being a cover-up job from the get-go. Now that details of the investigation have been released (paywall) that initial impression is confirmed. The details were snuck out under cover of the US election.

Promoted as an 'independent, transparent investigation by scientific experts', the actual investigation is the opposite of that.

In fact there's a distinct pattern emerging with WHO's pronouncements - whatever they say you can assume the opposite is true.

Here are some facts about the investigation:

1. Most of the scientists are Chinese - appointed by the CCP.

2. Those foreign scientists that have been accepted to participate were appointed by WHO and vetted by the CCP.

3. Even then, those foreign scientists are not allowed in the country! They are conducting their 'investigation' via Zoom calls with the Chinese scientists. They may be allowed in later

4. WHO refuses to release the names of the foreign scientists involved. (Nobody, including Nature, seems to think that's weird.)

5. Investigation of a possible leak from an Wuhan lab is strictly forbidden.

6. The investigation will also focus on origin scenarios outside China. (Nothing necessarily wrong with that but worrying considering the ban on investigating lab leaks inside China)

7. All 'findings' must be approved by the CCP.

The origins of the most destructive, disruptive event of our times will be reduced to a narrative writing exercise. A handful of anonymous CCP-approved foreign scientists, who have long since sold-out any ethical fortitude to the CCP, will rubberstamp it. It will then be presented to the world as a definitive, independent, transparent investigation.

The narrative will include a fanciful speculation of transmission through an intermediate species, possibly outside China. (It's interesting to note that it's taken as fact that SARS originated from civets - even though there's no definitive proof of that - it was just a hypothesis that gained traction. In fact Batwoman still maintains that it probably came directly from bats.)

The media will faithfully print the narrative and label anyone who raises questions as conspiracy theorists. We will be told to listen to the (anonymous) experts. The media will refuse to print dissenting voices (expert or otherwise). End of story.

Sham WHO-CCP investigation into Covid Origins

by dan, Sunday, November 15, 2020, 16:14 (1467 days ago) @ dulan drift

This is astounding.

Regarding #4. "WHO refuses to release the names of the foreign scientists involved." Why wouldn't they release their names? How can anything be reviewed, much less peer reviewed, if we don't know who we're reviewing?

"An international team of epidemiologists, virologists and researchers with expertise in public health, animal health and food safety will lead the WHO’s COVID-19 investigation. The agency has not released their names." https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03165-9

The other points you make are even more disturbing. Assuming this really is a weaponized virus that escaped, it means we're truly in for a long period of disruption. One quality of this virus that keeps popping up is its ability to get a foothold in a population and spread surreptitiously, mainly be spreading unnoticed in a large segment of the population. This means it has real staying power. If its death rate was higher, 10% or something, it would burn out quickly. If it were much lower, akin to that of the flu, it wouldn't be much of an issue. But it has that sweet spot of somewhere between 2-4% that causes havoc, on top of all the hospitalizations of people who do pull through but have lasting, and now it appears, perhaps lifelong symptoms.

And it results in authoritarian policies being justified, invasion of privacy, and general loss of freedoms.

But what you're touching on is something altogether more horrifying, the coordinated coverup by international organizations that are meant to protect us.

Sham WHO-CCP investigation into Covid Origins

by dulan drift ⌂, Sunday, November 15, 2020, 20:44 (1467 days ago) @ dan

Yes, what possible reason could there be for not naming the scientists involved?

My guess is they're worried someone might search their names and find they're up to their eyeballs in CCP influence.

I wonder if any of the guys from the Proximal Origins paper are on the team? Lipkin and Holmes would be prime candidates who can be relied on to make up/sign off on/sell whatever bullshit narrative is cooked up.

Bruce Aylward would almost certainly be a part of it - the guy who gave the Taiwan car-crash interview to a HK journalist. He led the first 'investigative' tour back in Jan or Feb where they returned singing the praises of China. My money has him as leader of the foreign contingent again.

Another would be Dr Bernhard Schwartländer of Germany, WHO Chef de Cabinet and WHO’s representative in China since 2013. Before that he was UN Coordinator on AIDS in Beijing. Sadly, anyone who has been involved with China and WHO for that long is immediately suss. It shouldn't be like that - but it is.

The frustrating thing is that they just keep saying 'listen to the experts' - and hey presto they get away with it - no-one bothers to actually check the validity/logicality of what's being said.

I'm reading a book by Arthur Koestler called The Act of Creation. He makes some interesting points about scientists - one is that the 'boring, impenetrable fog of scientific loftiness' is a crock made up by scientists to avoid scrutiny. Unfortunately it works.

After months of secrecy, Mike Ryan (IRE, head of WHO Emergencies), has belatedly revealed the names of the 10-person Covid 'investigation' team, nearly two months after they began work (Oct 30) via "regular Zoom calls". The fact the names have been dumped in the media dead-zone just days before Christmas is also notable)

Candidates were chosen from the closed-field of Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) members in consultation with the CCP. (GOARN is a WHO body, founded and cultivated by Ryan). All scientists outside this network were excluded.

This process was criticized by other scientists for lacking transparency.

The group will travel to China in January to continue 'Phase-2' of the investigation. 'Phase-1' has already been conducted by Chinese scientists. 'Phase-2' is simply reviewing/signing off on the information they present.

Mike Ryan hopes "the international community can be reassured of the quality of the science."

Fabian Leendertz (Ger)

Dominic Dwyer (Aus - worked with WHO in Beijing during Sars-1)

Sham WHO-CCP investigation into Covid Origins

Good point regarding the exclusion of scientist outside the WHO organization.

From https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03402-1:
"But Christian Drosten, a virologist at the Charité hospital in Berlin, notes that invitations to apply for the team were only sent to members of the WHO’s Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), a closed group with experience in outbreak response. Many researchers with relevant expertise were not given the opportunity to apply, says Drosten, who received the e-mail, but missed the invitation while on holiday. “They could and should have issued this as a more open call.”

This begs the question of how transparent can this really be? And how free will any participating scientist feel to question the group's findings, seeing that it could result in the loss of their job?

Peter Daszak - WHO-CCP investigation into Covid

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, December 19, 2020, 14:54 (1433 days ago) @ dan

This begs the question of how transparent can this really be?

It's a transparent con job if that counts.

Take Peter Daszak, one of the 10-team, for example:

Daszak is a close collaborator with Lipkin, an author of the notorious Proximal Origins paper that purported to 'prove' Covid had not leaked from a lab - it was pangolins that done it. They have co-authored several papers and articles and have been accused of "misinterpretation of data implicating dromedary camels in MERS" during a shady trip to Saudi Arabia in which "frozen samples accidentally were thawed en route to Columbia University."

With some small contribution from Formosahut, and a lot from a group called DRASTIC and Research Gate scientists, that paper has now been discredited as high-profile narrative writing on behalf of the CCP. The paper's 'pangolin findings' were headlines in all major media outlets around the world for several weeks, thereby achieving its purpose of quashing speculation about a lab leak.

The debunking of that paper received very little coverage, often reduced to a by-word, such as in this Dec 2020 story about the WHO investigation.

I'd have thought Top Scientists linked to CCP misinform world about Covid Origins would be a good headline - i'd read it. But it seems 'now is not the right time to talk about that'.

Peter Daszak - EcoHealth Alliance

by dulan drift ⌂, Sunday, December 20, 2020, 09:18 (1433 days ago) @ dulan drift

Daszak is the head of EcoHealth Alliance, Lipkin is also on the board. EcoHealth scientists, including Daszak, have been frequent collaborators with those from Wuhan Institute of Virology where GoF (Gain-of-Function) experiments on bat viruses are performed, ref ref ref.

Shi Zheng-li from WIV (Batwoman), was part of the team in 2008 that inserted a SARS sequence into an infectious bat virus backbone (SL-CoVs) to make it more infectious. They wrote such research was “invaluable in formulating control strategies for potential future outbreaks.”

In this article Daszak reportedly brags that EcoHealth Alliance has:

"...racked up quite a number of successes. The team and its collaborators at the Wuhan Institute of Virology have collected about 15,000 samples from bats. From these they have already identified ...about 50 (that) fall into a category that caused SARS and ... COVID-19."

15,000 bat viruses! That place was/is a weapons factory waiting to explode. With up to 50 that potentially caused Covid. So that's confirmation from the horses mouth (probably a blundering one) that WIV was holding bat viruses that could have caused Covid. "About 50 of them"!

"The researchers were also able to demonstrate that at least some of the new bat coronaviruses they have found are capable of infecting a human cell in a petri dish"

Great. Let's unpack that. Peter Daszak was doing GoF experiments with Batwoman at WIV.

WIV experiments involve collecting bat viruses, infecting human cells, and making viruses more contagious to human cells to "formulate control strategies for potential future outbreaks.” (Bear in mind this was 2008 - how did your control strategies go after 12 years of research?)

Ecohealth's $3 mil funding was withdrawn in May 2020 due to its ties to China. In July NIH restored the funding but with the following stipulations, including:
" -provide a sample of the pandemic coronavirus that WIV used to determine the viral genetic sequence
- arrange for an outside inspection of WIV and its records “with specific attention to addressing the question of whether WIV staff had SARS-CoV-2 in their possession prior to December 2019”
- explain “diminished cell-phone traffic in October 2019, and the evidence that there may have been roadblocks surrounding the facility from October 14-19, 2019"
- provide the NIH with WIV’s responses to the 2018 Department of State cables regarding safety concerns.”

EcoHealth has so far refused to comply with these requests from NIH

EcoHealth 'pioneered' the push for Remdesivir as a treatment, which was approved, (ke-ching! Big-time - for someone) but didn't seem to stop Covid that i noticed. Batwoman was also in on that deal.

Let's say you do think there's a possibility that the virus leaked from an Wuhan lab. It's then a reasonable deduction, that if it did, Peter Daszak worked on that virus.

The question then is: How is the appointment of Peter Daszak to this elite panel of expert investigators, not a conflict of interest? The guy is a massive 'person-of-interest' in any serious investigation.

What's the likelihood that Peter Daszak, already accused of "misinterpreting data" re MERS in a deal with the Saudi regime, will steer the investigation towards his own entanglement with WIV and another totalitarian regime, the CCP?

What's the likelihood that he will steer the investigation away from that?

Acquiescing to CCP control of the investigation, including setting of the agenda (ruling WIV out), vetting investigators, and limiting investigators to reviewing what China scientists have presented them, is not taking the politics out of the investigation! It's totally political.

It's the old two choices scenario - saying there is no politics involved in the investigation means you are either very stupid or your corrupt. Either way you shouldn't be allowed anywhere near an investigation.

WHO forces Radiographers Society to delete Taiwan name

Dr. Peter K. Ben Embarek - Team Leader

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, January 15, 2021, 05:55 (1407 days ago) @ dulan drift

Team Leader (not listed as part of the Team of 10)

Food Safety Scientist, World Health Organization

Team Leader of Investigation

Has worked with the CCP since at least 2009 -"leading expert on food safety in China"

Was part of the then-anonymous 2-person team that travelled to Beijing in July to negotiate the terms of the 2021-Investigation with the CCP

Comments:

"It could be a very long journey before we get a full understanding of what happened. I don't think we will have clear answers after this initial mission, but we will be on the way."

"There is nothing to indicate that it would be man-made."

"Before December 2019 we don't really know what happened, we don't know how the virus jumped from its most probable natural environment in the bat population over to humans. And it's that bit of the history that we need to reconstruct."

Investigations would look into "everything that went in and out of that market at that time and try to find out where these animals and food products came from."

They would look for commonalities among market workers who got severely ill in December and whether they were infected in the countryside or a farming environment in southern China or "perhaps even outside China," he said.

Conclusion:

Team Leader parrots WHO/CCP lines of: 'Don't expect answers', 'No lab evidence', 'Wildlife/market origin', 'outside China'.

Comments:

"Phase 1 was supposed to be completed by now, according to the terms of reference, and we should have some results. If that's what we get when we come to China...that would be fantastic. Then we are already in phase 2."

Conclusion

Total acceptance of the data examined in the investigation being limited to what is presented and vetted by the CCP. Phase 2 sounds like nothing more than a rubber-stamping exercise.

Tedros Sings China's Praises

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, January 15, 2021, 07:41 (1407 days ago) @ dulan drift

Here are some quotes from our fearless leader of the experts from the free world - in praise of totalitarianism.

“What they (the CCP) are doing is a very, very strong measure and with full commitment. I was very encouraged and impressed by the president’s detailed knowledge of the outbreak and his personal involvement in the outbreak. This was, for me, a very rare leadership.” (Jan 22, 2020)

Note: Later the same day, in Geneva, the WHO decided against declaring a PHEIC, which meant no calls for restrictions on travel in and out of China, even as Beijing locked down the Chinese heartland.

“It is very difficult, given the facts, to say that China was hiding.” (Feb 6, in response to a question about Chinese whistleblower doctor Li Wenliang, who was detained by the CCP for "spreading fake information" then died of Covid)

"Its (China's) actions actually helped prevent the spread of coronavirus to other countries. I was very impressed and encouraged by the president’s detailed knowledge of the outbreak.” (Feb 8, 2020)
Note: At least he won't be able to say later that he didn't know.

Jan 30 Tedros Statement:
As I have said repeatedly since my return from Beijing, the Chinese government is to be congratulated for the extraordinary measures it has taken to contain the outbreak

We would have seen many more cases outside China by now – and probably deaths – if it were not for the government’s efforts, and the progress they have made to protect their own people and the people of the world.

The speed with which China detected the outbreak, isolated the virus, sequenced the genome and shared it with WHO and the world are very impressive, and beyond words. So is China’s commitment to transparency and to supporting other countries.
In many ways, China is actually setting a new standard for outbreak response. It’s not an exaggeration.

The vast majority of cases outside China have a travel history to Wuhan, or contact with someone with a travel history to Wuhan.

Let me be clear: this declaration is not a vote of no confidence in China. On the contrary, WHO continues to have confidence in China’s capacity to control the outbreak.

As you know, I was in China just a few days ago, where I met with President Xi Jinping. I left in absolutely no doubt about China’s commitment to transparency, and to protecting the world’s people.

(T)here is no reason for measures that unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade. WHO doesn’t recommend limiting trade and movement.

(T)he only way we will defeat this outbreak is for all countries to work together in a spirit of solidarity and cooperation. We are all in this together, and we can only stop it together.
This is the time for facts, not fear.
This is the time for science, not rumours.
This is the time for solidarity (with totalitarianism), not stigma.

Thank you.

And where is the data? I was having a discussion just today with a highly educated colleague about how we just accept the word, via the media, from the experts on the data. We are capable of interpreting this sort of data.

With regards to the data of these trials, anyone with basic math and logic skills is able to interpret the data they produce and come to their own conclusions. I would not say the same for, say, reading scans or holistic interpretations of a wealth of individual test data. But when it comes to this sort of trial data, it's just statistics. Thanks very much experts, but I think we can figure it out on our own. Just give us the raw data. We'll do just fine.

That's the thing - everything has devolved into generalizations - which we are supposed to believe in.

The day i realized, around Feb-Mar 2020, that my thinking about science was based on a 'faith in scientists', was the day i lost my faith.

Science is not supposed to be a religion - just give us the details and let us decide for ourselves.

WHO Investigators visit Wet Market

by dulan drift ⌂, Monday, February 01, 2021, 11:18 (1389 days ago) @ dulan drift

"A WHO team looking into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic yesterday visited the seafood market in the Chinese city of Wuhan that was linked to many early infections. Scientists initially suspected the virus came from wild animals sold in the market. The market has since been largely ruled out."

So what's the point of even going there - more than 12 months after the outbreak?

Peter Daszak, a zoologist with the US group EcoHealth Alliance and a member of the WHO team, wrote on Twitter: “Very important site visits today _ a wholesale market first & Huanan Seafood Market just now. Very informative & critical for our joint teams to understand the epidemiology of COVID as it started to spread at the end of 2019.”

Really? I could have told you that from here. We already know that the first cases weren't from the market - that it was just a stepping stone in the spread of the infection. What on earth are you going to learn by visiting the market now?

Sounds more like a PR stunt so they can say 'Well, we went to Wuhan - we couldn't find anything there... Maybe it did come from overseas...'

"The Chinese government has promoted theories, with little evidence, that the outbreak might have started with imports of frozen seafood tainted with the virus."

While you're in Wuhan, why not visit the Wuhan labs that were working on bat viruses? Report on their security - make public the genomes of all viruses that were/are held there? Talk to some local residents who were amongst the first infected? Talk to whistleblower doctors - the ones that are not dead. Normal investigation things.

Here's a doctor with an interesting insight into the cover up:

“Everyone knew it was human-to-human transmission, even a fool would know. So why say there was none? This made us very confused and very angry.”

What's his take on the origin? Why did the CCP lie about human-to-human transmission?

But hell will freeze over before WHO/CCP will allow anything like that.

Sun Yang, director-general of the health emergency response office of China's National Health Commission, said:

"The virus origin studies are of a scientific nature. We must stop any political pressure (to find the actual origin)."

Marion Koopmans

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, February 05, 2021, 05:39 (1386 days ago) @ dulan drift

Dutch virologist

"WHO team members have said in recent days that their main goal wasn’t to investigate the institute itself but to meet fellow scientists who have worked for years on bat coronaviruses for an open-ended conversation about the origins of Covid-19." (paywall)

Marion Koopmans' Comments:

Dr Shi is “one of the people that did incredibly important work, so that would certainly be a starting point,” Dr Koopmans said. But, she added, “It sounds like you are getting into the lab theory, which I’m just not going there.”

Why not? What's the point of doing an investigation if you're not going to investigate one of the main scenarios?

So we have visited the three laboratories that have been actively working, including the laboratory sitting close to the market, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology. We have discussed their research programs, their routine testing programs, the way they work, what they had done in terms of health monitoring and testing of staff, and based on that, we concluded that it’s extremely unlikely that there was a lab incident.”

Meanwhile, leading transparency advocate, Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University said:

“The possibility that SARS-CoV-2 entered human populations through a laboratory accident cannot, and should not, be dismissed."

He pointed out the bleeding obvious that a credible investigation would require unrestricted access to records, samples, personnel and facilities at the institute and two other institutions in Wuhan.

WHO dismisses Lab Leak (and even Wuhan) as origin

by dulan drift ⌂, Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 05:29 (1381 days ago) @ dulan drift

"Peter Ben Embarek, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) mission, said it was "extremely unlikely" that the virus leaked from a lab in the city of Wuhan."

The investigation could now focus on South East Asia, one expert said.

Dr Embarek said work to identify the origins of Covid-19 pointed to a "natural reservoir" in bats, but it was unlikely that this happened in Wuhan.

He said identifying the animal pathway remained a "work in progress", but that it was "most likely" to have crossed over to humans from an intermediary species.

The experts also said there was "no indication" that the virus was circulating in Wuhan before the first official cases were recorded there in December 2019.

Liang Wannian, an expert with China's Health Commission, said Covid-19 could have been in other regions before it was detected in Wuhan.

The team called for further investigation into the possibility of "cold chain" transmission, referring to the transport and trade of frozen food.

Daszak: "We've done a lot of work in China and if you map that back it starts to point towards the border and we know that there is very little surveillance on the other side in the whole region of South East Asia."

"China is a very big place and South East Asia is a very big place. The supply chains to the Huanan seafood market were extensive, they were coming in from other countries, they were coming in from various parts of China, so to really trace that back it's going to take some work."

"He added that the focus should now be on those supply chains

After visiting the Wuhan Institute of Virology, they have closed the lid on a controversial theory that coronavirus came from a lab leak or was made by scientists.

Another line of investigation is whether the virus could have spread through imported frozen food.

But Dr Embarek said a visit to the laboratory during the mission showed it was "very unlikely" that anything could have leaked out.

He said the laboratory theory was "not in the hypotheses that we will suggest for future studies"."

This smacks of the same stench as the Proximal Origins paper. The point is not to find the origin - just to have scientists lend their weight to closing down speculation of a lab leak.

The frozen food theory is plain silly - but seems that's what they're trying to go with. That way they can argue that it didn't come from China at all.

Dominic Dwyer - Cold Chain Hypothesis

by dulan drift ⌂, Tuesday, March 09, 2021, 17:16 (1353 days ago) @ dulan drift

Dominic Dwyer is an Australian expert - part of the CCP/WHO Investigation team.

The Guardian, the same people that brought us Peter Daszak, now proudly present Dominic Dwyer with his fringe 'cold-chain' theory - that conveniently exports the origin to a non-China "elsewhere" and aligns with the CCP's totalitarian goals.

Dwyer: Then there was the “cold chain” hypothesis. This is the idea the virus might have originated from elsewhere via the farming, catching, processing, transporting, refrigeration or freezing of food. Was that food ice-cream, fish, wildlife meat? We don’t know.

Then why are you talking about it Dominic? It's a fringe theory.

But to what extent did it contribute to its spread? Again, we don’t know.

Again - why are you talking about it? Would it have anything to do with not talking about the elephant in the room - that it may have leaked from a bio-defense lab?

Several “cold chain” products present in the Wuhan market were not tested for the virus. Environmental sampling in the market showed viral surface contamination. This may indicate the introduction of Sars-CoV-2 through infected people, or contaminated animal products and “cold chain” products. Investigation of “cold chain” products and virus survival at low temperatures is still under way.

I bet it is.

Dominic Dwyer - Lab Escape Extremely Unlikely

by dulan drift ⌂, Tuesday, March 09, 2021, 18:38 (1353 days ago) @ dulan drift

Dominic Dwyer:

Extremely unlikely the virus escaped from a lab

The most politically sensitive option we looked at was the virus escaping from a laboratory. We concluded this was extremely unlikely.

We visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is an impressive research facility, and looks to be run well, with due regard to staff health.

Run well by the CCP. Those totalitarians - they can be vicious bastards - but you gotta hand it to them - they really know how to run a bio-defense/weapons facility.

We spoke to the scientists there. We heard that scientists’ blood samples, which are routinely taken and stored, were tested for signs they had been infected. No evidence of antibodies to the coronavirus was found.

We heard? So using the principle that we believe whatever a totalitarian regime tells us about a "politically sensitive" issue is true - we firmly conclude that a lab-escape was "extremely unlikely".

Dominic, did you also hear the one about how the Tienanmen Square Massacre was just a traffic accident involving a tank and a drunk pedestrian?

Ben Embarek wins Science Award - from China

by dulan drift ⌂, Wednesday, March 10, 2021, 07:19 (1353 days ago) @ dulan drift

In terms of credibility - the less awards you win for services to totalitarian regimes, the better.

W. Ian Lipkin has a whole trophy cabinet full of them but leader of the WHO Investigation Team, Ben Embarek is closing ground.

This one is called the 'Scientific Spirit Award' in which the CCP gives "praise and thanks" for Embarek's "adherence" and "great contributions" to the CCP's concept of scientific spirit with Chinese characteristics.

Embarek, who before, during, and after the WHO Investigation rejected any serious consideration of a lab-escape, repeated that it was "extremely unlikely... (and)... not in the hypotheses that we will suggest for future studies". Case closed.

As such, he has played a leading role in selling the CCP's version of events and thoroughly deserves his award.

The Wuhan Virus will be remembered for as long as humanity exists. Those scientists who have perverted the course of the investigation by shutting down any serious consideration of the most probable cause of Covid - a lab escape - will be forever stained with infamy.

In this case, if it was an accident, the cover-up is worse than the origin event - at least that was, probably, an accident. But what you're doing is deliberate, premeditated deception to protect totalitarianism. I hope you're ready to own that.

Or are you really so confident that totalitarianism will win? In which case you'll continue to be celebrated as highly paid heroes?

“We have discussed their research programs, their routine testing programs, the way they work, what they had done in terms of health monitoring and testing of staff, and based on that, we concluded that it’s extremely unlikely that there was a lab incident.”

In other words, we asked:
'Did you guys accidentally leak Covid?'

They said 'What us? No!'

And "based on that" we believed them. Case closed. Where do we pick up our checks?

What the WHO 'investigators' conveniently didn't do is ask for access to the WIV database that went off-line with unpublished material of what experiments were being conducted at WIV.

Daszak: “We did not ask to see the data, and, as you know, a lot of this work is work that’s been conducted with EcoHealth Alliance. I’m also part of those data, and we do basically know what’s in those databases."

Sorry if we don't take your word for it Pete - let's just see the data. Covering it up only makes it look more suspicious.

Nor did they enquire about missing lab-worker, Huang Yanling.

Tedros appointed Mugabe as WHO goodwill ambassador

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, April 02, 2021, 06:31 (1330 days ago) @ dulan drift

BBC: (Tedros) was elected in May with a mandate to tackle perceived politicisation in the organisation.

One of Tedros's first acts in 'tackling politicization' was to appoint deranged Zimbabwe tyrant Robert Mugabe as a WHO goodwill ambassador.

Tedros: (Mugabe has made Zimbabwe) "a country that places universal health coverage and health promotion at the centre of its policies".

The decision attracted derision from human rights organizations:

Kenneth Roth, Human Rights Watch: When you go to Zimbabwean hospitals, they lack the most basic necessities. Mugabe's utter mismanagement of the economy has devastated health services".

Obert Gutu, Zimbabwe MDC party: The Zimbabwe health delivery system is in a shambolic state, it is an insult. Mugabe trashed our health delivery system... he allowed our public hospitals to collapse.

Another Goodwill Ambassador appointed under Tedros is Peng Liyuan - Xi Jinping's wife!

Ironically, as someone who supposedly got the top WHO job, with the backing of China, with "a mandate to tackle perceived politicization of WHO", the words ""persuasive" and "political" are (the ones that) crop up regularly when discussing his leadership of WHO."

In short the Tedros is a political charlatan with a particular affinity for dictators.

And yet here he is, leader of WHO, our expert of the experts. If we don't swallow every word he says we get yelled at and called conspiracy theorists.

But here are the take-away facts about Tedros:

1. He's been a long time cheerleader for Xi's Belt and Road Initiative.
2. Banned Taiwan from WHA observer status.
3. He lied about the severity of the Covid outbreak in the critical early days and suppressed reports from Chinese whistleblower doctors.
4. He advised against wearing masks, said there was no human to human transmission.
5. He praised the CCP to high heaven saying they were "open and transparent".
6. He covered up several cholera outbreaks in Ethiopia when he was Health Minister there.
7. He praised Mugabe and appointed him as WHO goodwill ambassador.

WHO rejects Taiwan participation at WHA - again

Despite the US, all the G7 countries, Australia, Sweden, Japan, a bunch of places calling for Taiwan to be allowed to participate at the next WHA meeting, it was again banned by WHO.

There is no logical scientific argument for banning a country that was on the doorstep of the outbreak yet proved the most effective at controlling it - without lockdowns, or even vaccines (so far).

How the fuck did they do it? Wouldn't that be valuable knowledge for the world in its big moment of crisis?

They did it by knowing that WHO's and China's advice that there was nothing to worry about - meant there was something to worry about. They reacted - they were ready.

It begs the question again: 'WHO the fuck is WHO?'

Masquerading as health experts - always saying "we want to take the politics out of science" - calling everyone who questions them "conspiracy theorists" - but then functioning as a political arm of the CCP.

WHO is made up of 194 member countries. They all get a vote.

It's important to remember that Totalitarianism is alive and well as a system of government. It's not just China - the Arabian countries - many in Africa, South America. Then there's corrupt 'democratic' countries (Russia) which is practically the same thing. WHO is a great example of a corrupt 'democracy' in action.

These countries vote as a block. As it stands - Totalitarianism is the ruling faction. Their edicts have got nothing to do with your health - on the contrary - it's pure politics.

That's the cold hard fact of who WHO is.

These countries vote as a block. As it stands - Totalitarianism is the ruling faction. Their edicts have got nothing to do with your health - on the contrary - it's pure politics.

Two trends in the supposedly democratic, progressive West bother me about this. One is that these world organizations did seem to offer hope and promise after WWII for a more sane world. The UN, WHO, World Bank, IMF, etc., in theory, are meant to be stabilizing forces. But in fact, as you point out, they have become political tools serving special interests, tools we quite literally pay for.

So there's that. But now in the US we have two opposing, extreme political camps. And with regards to these international organizations, this is a very odd, and very disturbing situation.

The far right generally opposes these organizations for a variety of reasons. The middle to far left, on the other hand, embraces them.

The ironic nature of all this is that the far right is, by nature, totalitarian (though some claim to be libertarian, which is bullshit), and the far left claims to be 'woke', and yet embraces these totalitarian world bodies!

And so we have both ends of the spectrum supporting, in one form or another, totalitarianism, with the far right dabbling in fascism.

Meanwhile, these international organizations that were meant to protect us from all this bullshit have sold out to the highest bidder.

This seems to be a very unstable situation. On top if it all, we have growing wealth inequality, decreasing natural resources (particularly water and food), and very fragile supply chain infrastructure. In short, we're in deep shit.

That's the crux of the situation - the very fundamentals of our societal organizations have come under question:

Are these bodies, all using public money, functioning on behalf of the public?

Or are they corruptly acting to protect/grow their own power bases?

The "evidence" suggests it's the latter.

The consequences of that are enormous coz it means society is in a situation where we can't trust our own experts. From there it's a short step from the whole fabric of society unraveling. Which explains the desperate attempts to cover this scary truth up. The trouble with that is, the more you cover it up, the worse it gets.

I remember my mum railing against the Olympic Committee - saying it was all a corrupt gravy train - that was 30-40 years ago. The same disease that afflicted the Olympic Committee has worked its way through all such international bodies - it was always inevitable that it would.

Human beings in privileged, powerful positions taking the very human response of protecting those positions - this becomes their number one priority.

As i said to my sister (a scientist) re WHO's performance at the start of Covid, 'If you're trying to undermine public faith in its own institutions, then you're going exactly the right way about it.'

The question then is:

Are you ready to take responsibility for your actions/lies, and then deal with the fallout from that?

Coz it's coming, 'ready-or-not'.

Taking the politics out

WHO experts say some risible things but 'we want to take the politics out of it' is right up there.

Kow-towing to the CCP is not 'taking the politics out of it' - that's full-on playing politics - in the immoral end of the spectrum.

What they mean is 'take everyone else's politics out of it' - otherwise known as totalitarianism.

Trying to pretend the CCP allows its nice scientists at its most important biodefense facility free rein is silly. Doesn't need documentary evidence to know that - but turns out the evidence is pretty funny.

It's from WIV's newsletter:

On the afternoon of February 22, (2019) Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences held a special study meeting to convey Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Third Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Hmm, doesn't sound terribly apolitical so far.

A total of 40 project secretaries and managers attended the meeting. He Changcai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, delivered a report entitled "Strict Words in the First and Strict to the End", comprehensively reviewed the key work of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in 2018, combined with the understanding and experience of discipline inspection and supervision.

That's a whole lot of discipline by the CCP for the WIV researchers. How do we take the politics out of that?

Here's a somewhat disappointing look by Al Jazeera into the now acceptable questions being raised about a lab leak. Not only does the host begin the show by referring to the initial speculation of a leak as a conspiracy theory, he doesn't hold the CCP's bitch, Victor Gao, to account when Gao (a funny name for such a low life) walks all over him. One of Gao's main points is that the world needs to keep politics out of it and follow the science.

It's hard to watch. The guest virologist did raise an interesting theory. He thinks the most likely scenario is that somebody, perhaps a disgruntled employee, purposefully stole and released some of the virus. He finds that as more possible than a leak, even though lab leaks of lethal viruses have happened multiple times in the past, another point the host didn't raise.

If this shit show of a look at a possible leak is an indication of what we can expect from the media, then this is going nowhere. And Al Jazeera is, IMO, one of the better media outlets out there.

That makes it very hard for the truth to get a foothold.

Do you think it makes it impossible to fix? This is the movie where the corruption runs all the way to the top - so who's left to hold the perps accountable?

I wonder the extent to which what we're seeing in the media is just complete bullshit. We've been told that there are intelligence reports of researchers from the lab getting sick but haven't been given proof. In fact, we haven't been given proof of anything, at all. Nothing. Except the daily tally of the dead.

So what is going on? Is US intelligence holding their cards close as a bargaining chip? Are there backroom dealings going on?

Here's another recent talking points show from BBC. In this one, the guest virologist, who worked with bat lady, reluctantly admits that there were lapses in the lab, but very strongly points out that the overwhelming likelihood is that this virus is from an animal because, well, that's the way it's been for the last few thousand years.

She doesn't bother to address the fact that these labs and this research is very new, and so of course any leaks are not historically prevalent. Nor does the host bother to ask, hmmm, but what about the fact that this research, genetic science, etc. etc. etc., is all very, very new from an historical context, and so to base assumptions on historical data is flawed? What, in fact, is the possibility of a leak?

That question, the mechanics of a leak, the mechanics of the lab, just isn't addressed.

Nope, nobody bothers to discuss that bit.

The other thing is that they talk about SARS and MERS like they're closed-cases - they're not.

There is still no definitive proof that SARS came from nature. The closest they got was a bat with an identity percentage of 96+% - which is similar to that of RaTG13 with SARS-2 at 96.27%. The civet theory is also dubious. Btw, SARS-1 leaked from labs a whopping 6 times following the initial outbreak. Was the origin of SARS-1 a lab-escape, too? I don't know but it's certainly possible. I'd love to see side by side graphs of the amount spent on studying coronaviruses and the number of instances of deadly outbreaks of the common cold in the history of humanity.

MERS - which was a Lipkin/Daszak study - was also shrouded in murkiness. They were there at the exclusive invitation of Saudi's totalitarian govt and the samples they collected accidentally thawed on the flight back.

Yes, historically we've had colds before (corona virus being a form of cold) but not ones that killed 5 million in a year. That's something we've never seen ever.

It's also absurd that she's complaining that the investigation is focusing exclusively on a lab-leak. The opposite is true! The lab-leak was blanket-banned by the media and most scientists while WHO did their faux investigations that concluded, bizarrely, that Covid didn't originate in China, let alone Wuhan.

We're in this crazy situation where fringe theories are being mainstreamed (pangolin, wet market) while common-sense theories are being marginalized.

For whose benefit? The CCP.

One more - someone makes the excuse that lab-leak theory was suppressed coz it "was mixed up with theories about a deliberate release of a bio-weapon". What nonsense. The only people doing the mixing were CCP supporting scientists who used the deliberate bio-weapon as a straw man to argue against a lab-escape possibility.

WHO sexual abuse in Congo Ebola outbreak

by dulan drift ⌂, Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 09:51 (1149 days ago) @ dulan drift

BBC: World Health Organization (WHO) staff were among 83 aid workers who sexually abused women and girls while tackling the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a report finds.

The abuses, which included nine allegations of rape, were committed by both national and international workers between 2018 and 2020.

The commission said it found "clear structural failures and unpreparedness to manage the risks of incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse" in the central African country.

It said this was partly because of the focus on eradicating Ebola.

Not sure how focusing on Ebola can cause you to rape someone - i'd say it's more to do with the culture of unaccountablitiy, entitlement and corruption in WHO.

Tedros unopposed for second term

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, October 30, 2021, 05:28 (1119 days ago) @ dulan drift

GENEVA, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has steered the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is on course to serve a second five-year term as head of the World Health Organization (WHO) after being the only candidate nominated by 28 countries.

That tells you all you need to know about the UN's appetite for reform in the wake of their tragic mishandling/cover-up of Covid.

WHO bans Taiwanese journalists

by dulan drift ⌂, Saturday, May 28, 2022, 10:26 (908 days ago) @ dulan drift

If you're wondering whether the groundswell of popular international support for Taiwan from normal people has translated to the top ... it hasn't. In fact it's gotten worse.

Have continually banned Taiwan from participation in WHO, despite Taiwan having proved itself the most adept country in the world at handling Covid (coz it ignored all of WHO's advice), WHO has now banned Taiwanese journalists from attending official press conferences, or having any access to question the corrupt power elites that make up WHO/

Association of Taiwan Journalists: The right to interview should be regarded as one of the universal human rights, not as a gift from powerful countries. .. (S)uch an attitude is tantamount to persecution.

I'm going off the use of the word 'should' - you can tell WHO what they 'should' do till your blue in the face but they will never pay the slightest attention. It was a mistake by Biden to rejoin WHO - the org, which was instrumental in the Covid Cover-up. It is corrupt to the core and can never be reformed. Dissolve it and create a new organization from scratch that is focused on health, not politics.

I could not have stated it better.

The WHO, it appears, is positioning itself for a major power grab, which of course will include a massive influx of funds. That would be money you and I pay in taxes.

I'm still trying to find the precise langauge of any resolutions that were passed this weekend.

(THIS POSTING IS INTERRUPTED FOR EMERGENCY MESSAGE FROM NERV. Japan has this earthquake reporting app called NERV. When an earthquake happens, you get an alert, and, get this, it tells you precisely when the shock will hit you. It fucking works. I just got one and it the quake was so far away that it wasn't noticeable. But a few weeks ago I was in my office and got one, and the tiny jolt hit exactly according to the app. It has a timer that tells you it will hit in 5, 4, 3, 2,... 1. And it hits. Amazing. I think it even goes to tenths of hundredths of seconds.)

Anyway, here are a few excerpts from the Reuters rabbit hole:

First steps in reforming global health emergency rules adopted at WHO meeting

The changes sought by Washington, and backed by others such as Japan and the European Union, mark a first step in a broader reform of the IHR, which set out countries' legal obligations around disease outbreaks...

Something about the use of legal obligations here bothers me. So, the WHO will have the power to define international legal obligations? Who gave them that authority? Oh, wait, WHO gave themselves that authority!

First steps in reforming global health emergency rules agreed at WHO meeting

The amendments, once confirmed by the World Health Organization (WHO) assembly, are one of a handful of concrete outcomes from a meeting seen as a once-in-a-generation chance for the U.N. health agency to strengthen its role following some 15 million deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic.

That's it's goal, to strengthen it's role, a euphemism for seizing more power.

Other U.S. proposals yet to be negotiated by the WHO's 194 members include the possible deployment of expert teams to contamination sites and the creation of a new compliance committee to monitor the rules' future implementation.

So, experts chosen by the WHO will go to countries to monitor compliance. I think I'm writing a fiction novel about this shit.

Africa objects to U.S. push to reform health rules at WHO assembly

The IHR set out WHO members' legally binding obligations around outbreaks. The United States has proposed 13 IHR reforms which seek to authorise the deployment of expert teams to contamination sites and the creation of a new compliance committee to monitor implementation of the rules.

That's just scary shit. Who is giving them this authority? Oh, we've already answered that question.

WHO chief says it must take central role in global health

The title says it all. Full stop.

The head of the World Health Organization said on Monday that it must be "at the centre" of a global healthcare system...

At the center is a euphemism for having complete control. An unelected body wants to control the world health care system. That's not good.

"We need a stronger and sustainably financed WHO, at the centre of the global health security architecture," Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a major speech at the WHO's annual assembly.

No, we don't. We don't need that and I don't want you to take my money.

World in no better place to fight pandemics than before COVID - review

LONDON, May 18 (Reuters) - The world is no better prepared for a new pandemic than it was when coronavirus emerged in 2019 and may actually be in a worse place given the economic toll, according to a panel set up by the World Health Organization (WHO) to evaluate the global response.

A lack of progress on reforms such as international health regulations means the world is as vulnerable as ever, the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response said in its report.

So, let's get this straight. The world is fucked because you're not powerful enough. But if we make progress on reforms, which means giving you more money and power, then we'll be better off. No, I disagree.

The authors, led by former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark and former president of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, acknowledged some progress, including on more robust funding for the WHO, but said the process was going far too slowly.

There's the F word again. Well, you have to pay for those fancy international meetings somehow.

Money and power.

G20 agrees to set up global pandemic preparedness fund

Speaking on Wednesday, World Bank President David Malpass said there was "growing support" for the fund and the body would work with WHO and other partners on its establishment.

OK, well, since I'll be paying for this in part, when do I get my say?

Excellent analysis. Definitely write the book - after you finish The Refuser - this can be the prequel.

It's a smash and grab for the globalists experts. As you point out, no one gets to vote for these people - now they want to enforce international compliance on a wish list of legal obligations - of their own devising. And more money!

WHO's response to the outbreak has been a disgrace from the start. It had nothing to do with funding. Here are some on their greatest hits:

  • There is no evidence of human-to-human transition.
  • Covid is not an international emergency.
  • Don’t close the borders with China.
  • There's no evidence of aerosol transmission
  • Don’t wear masks.
  • China’s commitment to transparency is .. impressive, and beyond words. (Tedros)

The response was so bungled, it suggests it may have been deliberate. This is our big chance to rule the world - the last thing we need is it being snuffed out.

On top of that, there's a good chance WHO-affiliated scientists made Covid in the first place. (interestingly there's talk recently it could even have been engineered in the USA before making it's way to Wuhan)

In line with the frightening aspect you pointed out, both parties in Aus election were shoulder to shoulder on super-charging WHO re the report you laid out. That's insane. It failed the world's citizens on the biggest stage - when everyone was relying on them to do their job - coz, according to their excuse, they were busy playing politics - now they are getting rewarded?

No, that's not right. This is where i think WW3 is already happening. It's a war on individual rights by unaccountable globalists. We've blown the cover on the origin of Covid - that ought to have been the tide turning moment - but somehow we're still losing.

And China is leading the way. It's paving the path for the rest of the power elite to follow. First, take total control over personal freedom. China has done this with its social credit system, digital currency (arising), and recent show of power via crackdown on Shanghai. The message is clear. Toe the line or get fucked. Toe the line or we will haul you away, literally.

And people respond. No doubt the other power hungry in the west are salivating when they see what China has done. Look at Hong Kong. Gone. Tiananmen Square? Didn't happen, even in Hong Kong now.

Democracy is dead. What person in power doesn't want more power?

State controlled digital currency is coming to the west, and that will have, by its very nature, a social score element. It will erase any semblance of privacy in what one purchases or where that purchase is made, or when, or how. It will be the end of anonymity. In order to get this currency, you will have to show some form of ID. From that point, everything you do with that currency will be tracked. It can be blocked. So you might find that your currency is no longer usable. They can make it so that your currency can only be spent on some things, or at some places, or at some time of day.

Why wouldn't a power hungry corporation, which is what our governments are now, want to use that technology?

So we'll see it being slowly introduced into our economies. Who knows how it will happen, but it will. I suspect a combination of unchecked inflation, collapsing fiat, and failing economies might lead to the introduction of this new currency. The question is, will it be done quickly or gradually. I'm guessing gradually. It will be floated as something desirable, something to get into, if you can, to hedge inflation. There might be limited availability, or trial runs (hence limited), or test markets, all piquing interest in this new, better, more stable, safer money.

It might come with favorable interest rates on loans or other incentives, but it will come.

WHO: Covid is Over

by dulan drift ⌂, Sunday, June 04, 2023, 16:50 (536 days ago) @ dan

Recently WHO pronounced: THE End of Covid

But, like every other WHO pronouncement on Covid, that's an easily provable lie.

It's not over. It's running rampant - same as it has ever since it exited the lab. It's doing what it was designed to do. Full marks.

Only thing that's over is mega-amping it as a:

Crisis!

... that gives us THE Right to:

  • vacuum up all your rights/freedoms/personal data
  • entrench our centralist influence ORG going forward ... together ... with AI

So far as that goes, yeah, THE C-word is over - mission accomplished

Ventilation Machines

by dulan drift ⌂, Friday, June 09, 2023, 07:37 (532 days ago) @ dulan drift

Remember the panic about hospitals being able to access enough ventilation machines back in the early days of Covid?

Turns out putting patients on these machines was actually a death sentence.

Epoch Times: 76.4 percent of COVID-19 patients (aged 18 to 65) in New York City who were placed on ventilators died. Among patients over age 65 who were vented, the mortality rate was 97.2 percent

In fact, it was known to be a death sentence within a few weeks of commencing the practice. The point of doing it wasn't to save the patient - it was to protect health-care workers by isolating the virus inside the ventilation machine.

So who's brainwave was this?

The recommendation to place COVID-19 patients on mechanical ventilation as a first-line response came from the World Health Organization, which in early March 2020 published a COVID-19 provider guidance document to health care workers, based on experiences and recommendations from doctors in China.

Great. Another WHO/CCP Covid recommendation - from the critical early days that proved to be 180 degrees contrary to what should have been done to mitigate Covid - which was originally engineered by: WHO-affiliated scientists in a lab

It's very hard to escape the explanation that WHO power-actors, having created Covid, did everything they possibly could to ensure its global spread. Their advice included:

  • Don't wear masks
  • There's no human-to-human transmission
  • There is no airborne transmission
  • Don't close borders with China
  • CCP is "open & transparent"
  • It's "extremely unlikely" that Covid was a lab-leak

The horrifying thing is that WHO actors, on the back of this deadly advice (which they knew was wrong when they gave it), are now using Covid as a reason to increase their powers! They, believe or not, want power to act globally without deferring to anyone. To get ready for the next Disease X.

A normal person would think: Surely, they won't get more power. Every single action they took succeeded in making Covid worse! Not to mention they likely created the fucking virus in the first place!

But problem is: normal people have no influence over the Influencers - which are not even humans - they are & they aren't. There are influential people - sure - but they're representing a more powerful entity:

ORGS

One Health, One Government, One Everything

We don't vote for these ORGS/Reps. They're:
1. utterly unaccountable
2. corrupt to the core (as you'd expect when you're the above)

THE Goal is: Global Totalitarianism - coming to a sector near you - in THE NowFuture. Covid was a catapult event.

Epoch Times: Hospitals also received massive financial incentives to diagnose patients with COVID-19—whether they had it or not—and to put them on a vent. They also received bonuses for using toxic remdesivir, and they were paid for each COVID-19 death as well. The entire system was set up to reward hospitals for misdiagnosing, mistreating, and ultimately killing patients.

China also benefited from the WHO’s misguided advice. While the United States clamored for more ventilators, Chinese hospitals started relying on them less, and instead, they were being exported in huge quantities

Which explains in a nut-shell how humans are able to behave in such unethical ways: have your ORG dangle a little money/power under your nose &/or: stream Plato's Cave Celebrity Imaging on the wall ... 80% (?) of us will go for it - or turn a blind-eye. Even if it means: killing other humans

Totalitarianism, an ultimate ORG, knows this.

It also knows 100% of top management, with a much larger money/power carrot, will go for it. It's why they are top management. They can be relied upon to wield their ORGS power to: coerce, ban, punish the 20% that object.

Game over.

Or is it? Is there still a way to fuck Globo-ORGS up?
