There seems to be a greater number of late season storms this year. The rain we're getting now is from the remnants of Mitag. It's October ... in northern Japan.
How did you go with those remnants? Looks like there would have been some intense patches close to you?
Hagibis is on track to reach monster status - sustained winds of 130kts with gusts up to 160!
Forecast to head towards Japan (again) so will probably downsize before it makes landfall, but it's a serious storm
Well this absolutely sucks typhoon balls. We're flying from Misawa to Tokyo on the morning of the 13th, then out of Japan. It looks like not only is Hagibis predicted to make a direct hit on Tokyo the day of our international flight, it looks like the eye (if there still is one) will be east of Misawa at our departure time.
A typhoon in northern Japan? In mid October? Is that normal?
Looks like there might be a bit of headwind on the flight from Misawa to Tokyo!
Still predicting it to be packing some punch by the time it reaches Tokyo - which is unusual - especially so late in the year
Hopefully things will be back up and running on Sunday.
Japan Airlines to cancel over 90% of domestic flights to and from Haneda, Narita airports on Saturday: NHK

It's forecast to accelerate once it gets to Tokyo so hopefully passes quickly without destroying the airport. When do you fly to Tokyo? Looks like most of Japan is under the influence of Hagibis at the moment - how's it like where you are?
We were supposed to fly out Sunday but our flight was cancelled. So I got us on a later flight on Sunday then that was cancelled. Keep in mind this flight is to Tokyo, and each time I make changes, I have to then change the separate flight from Tokyo to Guam, so it's been a major pain.
So now we're going Tuesday. What a mess!

That's annoying! Surprised the late Sunday flight was cancelled - they do like to be cautious the Japanese
Looks like Hagibis is hitting Tokyo right about now
Doesn't look too bad on the 'live feed' - though it's a good idea to do it - a waterproof camera set up to capture a cat 5 wreaking havoc would make for compelling viewing
