Sulawesi Earthquake, Indonesia (General)
Another sequential earthquake in Indonesia, this time Sulawesi - a 6+ - a 7.5 - then another 6+
The 7.5 caused a tsunami. Ridiculous amount of activity in Indonesia this year

Frightening event - could it be that the places that have shown seismic activity this year are the most likely candidates to keep showing it?

Four days later and the news says they're having trouble getting emergency supplies to the area.
Gotta wonder how that could be possible - wouldn't you just load up a bunch of military helicopters and fly it in the next day?
Sounds like a similar situation to that that happened on Papua New Guinea (?) after their big quake a few months back.
Seems like there was new phenomenon happening during this earthquake which I haven't heard of before - reports of water gushing up through the ground due to liquefaction
Incredible footage in the links of houses sliding around - I don't think it's because of the tsunami - just the liquefaction
Woah! That's crazy. I think that's what happened in the 1989 SF earthquake. Everything that collapsed, including sections of the Bay Bridge, was built on landfill and if I remember correctly the same thing happened.
They just can't get a break.
