New storm (General)
I'm surprised the CWB hasn't issued some sort of alert about this yet.

Actually, that turned into a 'perfect storm' for us in Taidong. With apologies to northern PPE, the ideal scenario for us is that a typhoon glances the northern tip of PPE and kicks up some rain to the south east coast of Taiwan - in fact, apart from a direct hit, that's about the only way we can get rain in summer.
As it turned out, we had a good drenching over a 24 hour period - about 100 mil in most places - without any of the drama of a big typhoon. There were places that had huge falls, but CWB, much like Taiwanese drivers who only turn on the indicator after they have already started turning, invariably issues its warnings after the weather event has commenced.
However, that's the only rain we have had since Nepartak. The amount of rain events in Taidong seem to be shrinking year on year.
Might be something new brewing in the usual spot - seems like the big ones don't muck around - they jump from nothing much to a full-fledged typhoon within a couple of days - so we'll see what happens
Seems pretty quiet in your neck of the woods?
