Interesting. I had heard of these but never seen them. With that much energy being released, it would make sense that there are all sorts of ripple effects. Animals acting weird before a big earthquake is one. I remember reading somewhere that in Thailand before anybody even knew the tsunami was coming, elephants pulled their stake out of the ground and ran for higher ground.

So, if we all want our own earthquake predictor, we only need to get an elephant!
