Interesting week coming (reply)

The article you posted said the last el nino was 2009-10.

2009 was the year of Marokot.
2010 we had Fanapi.

This is the chart for Sunday - would seem to be our best chance for rain with the low having moved to the west of ppe and feeding into the front - though it looks like a pretty weak TS so whether it survives the crossing of ppe is another question.

Yep, this pretty much marks the absolute end of anything even remotely related to winter. Hello plum rains and a typhoon sitting off the Philippines catching our eye. It seems like the winter of 13-14 sort of hung around for a while.

I've been reading about this year's predicted El Nino. See http://is.gd/en7sBp for example. So far, it looks like a pretty standard spring, albeit with a bit of a late start.

Fronts have started coming thru but despite them looking impressive on the weather charts, they haven't produced any rain - not here or anywhere else - knocked a few degrees off the temp but that's about it. Nothing much showing on radar. Meanwhile TD has stalled east of ppe. Doubt we will get much rain until it crosses ppe - if it does.

Interesting week coming

Apart from what looks like a typhoon brewing and heading to n ppe (the L near the bottom of the chart), there also seems to be a stationary front thing going this week as well. The combination of the two could bring some big rain once the typ moves through ppe.
