It was in a tree behind our place around 11 in the morning. The second picture makes it look like it has a beak. It's just a branch. The first picture is clearly an owl. The snake was in this same spot yesterday (front yard) and I went there on a whim after getting the picture of the owl. Sure enough he was back. He was not small.
