1867 Tsunami in Keelung (General)

I'm sure I checked before one time and didn't find any records of tsunamis in Taiwan, but it now seems there have been a bunch of them, though nothing in the last 150 years

Apart from tsunamis in Pingtung and Tainan, the most recent was the one in Keelung in 1867

According to sediment observations, supposedly the wave was 7 metres high - which is bloody high - the reports from the recent Sulawesi quake had it 3-6M high

Apparently Keelung harbour was drained of water just before the waves came in.

There are several papers attempting to explain the extreme height of the wave, including one that concludes it must have been from a submarine volcano
