Taking the politics out (General)

WHO experts say some risible things but 'we want to take the politics out of it' is right up there.

Kow-towing to the CCP is not 'taking the politics out of it' - that's full-on playing politics - in the immoral end of the spectrum.

What they mean is 'take everyone else's politics out of it' - otherwise known as totalitarianism.

Trying to pretend the CCP allows its nice scientists at its most important biodefense facility free rein is silly. Doesn't need documentary evidence to know that - but turns out the evidence is pretty funny.

It's from WIV's newsletter:

On the afternoon of February 22, (2019) Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences held a special study meeting to convey Xi Jinping’s important speech at the Third Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Hmm, doesn't sound terribly apolitical so far.

A total of 40 project secretaries and managers attended the meeting. He Changcai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, delivered a report entitled "Strict Words in the First and Strict to the End", comprehensively reviewed the key work of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in 2018, combined with the understanding and experience of discipline inspection and supervision.

That's a whole lot of discipline by the CCP for the WIV researchers. How do we take the politics out of that?
