Comparing the radar with the actual rainfall map, you'd wonder how that could even be possible. The system seems to be travelling from west to east but somehow the whole west side of the island has remained virtually dry. The usual thing is that the central range and the coastal range will take most of the moisture out of such a system before it reaches us, but on this occasion the east coast seems to be the only place that is getting rain. There must be some other factor at play.
