Taiwan Volcanoes (General)

The recent burst of earthquake activity in Taidong all of which is coming from a single tight location got me wondering if Taiwan has any active volcanoes - Philippines and Japan have them and we're in between so why not us?

Interestingly enough, there are two that are rated as active, Turtle Island off the coast or Ilan and Tatun which is situated in north west Taipei! The most recent eruption there was about 20 000 years ago when it was in an erupting cycle that lasted 3000 years

It remains possible that it could erupt again one day

Green Island used to be a volcano but is not considered to be active
