Taitung pulls in NT$20 mil. annually from traffic camera
TAICHUNG — The traffic camera at the Hsianglan section of Provincial Highway No. 9 has captured an average 1,500 speeding drivers each month, which has resulted in a whopping NT$20 million (US$689,655) in annual revenue for Taitung County, officials said.

According to a salesperson who works at a store across from the Taitung County government building, roughly half of the traffic tickets paid at the store are for violations caught on the South-Link Highway camera at Hsianglan. That store alone processes more than 10 traffic tickets per month from that particular camera, the salesperson said.
